What makes a celebration

Materials and Resources. Itinerary and Strategies. Key Terms :. Motivation and Explanations:. Some questions to ask to lead the discussion…. Make a brainstorming list of different celebrations on whiteboard.

Birthday, religious holidays xmas, easter , national holidays 4 th of July , holidays for people martin luther king jr , everyday celebrations sports, victory, good grades, etc. What makes it a celebration? Why or why not? While asking these questions write down any ideas on the whiteboard.

To close discussion, go over the ideas written to make the point that celebration can be just about anything, depending on the person, culture, and tradition.

Celebration is often the subject of many artworks…show some general celebration art. Talk about what you see and feel in the artworks. Present artist example: Frances Trombly. Here is an artist that works specifically with celebration elements; things that people will often see at a celebration. He works with textiles by weaving fabrics and other materials together to create these realistic forms.

Allow five minutes to ask them to think of these 3 questions as a group. What is this element called? Do you recognize it? How would this make your celebration more fun? What are your personal experiences with this element? To celebrate drifts from the connotation of strictly fun, and takes on a more serious and joyful complexion. This moment is as sweet as any but takes on the solemn tone in the tradition of a celebration.

A celebration should have a subject, someone to receive the action and feel the collective joy provided by others. A celebration calls attention to the honor a person or things has gained from their important actions or positive traits. Singing praise or performing a ceremony again makes a celebration an active and personal occasion. As Emergenetics celebrates our 25 th Anniversary, we share the event with those around us. As a first third expressive, I share my celebration with a thought made public: We honor Emergenetics for honoring ourselves.

Our celebration, the public, serious, joyful, and personal celebration, is for the positivity it provides to us. The Meeting of the Minds is a celebration of the profile, your profile honors you and the group is a crowd to sing the praise. For our 25 th Anniversary, we should celebrate with every meaning of the word. This website uses cookies so that we can provide you with the best user experience possible. One of the biggest traps we seem to fall into is attaching sometimes unattainable metrics to what we consider achieving success looks like. What we forget though is those failures are just as important as the goals we set. We learn more from the moments that went wrong, for they are the stepping stones that bring us closer to achieving our goals.

Whatever your end goal looks like is almost irrelevant because success should also be measured by your journey. Our greatest lesson of is to not fear failure, but to embrace it, to celebrate the moments and feed the desire and drive to continue on the the next. As we heed our own advice and celebrate our successes, it seems the perfect time to celebrate YOU, our supporters, our champions, our clients, our loved ones and friends.

None of this year would have been possible without your support, encouragement and guidance. It is easy to lose sight of why you set out on the journey in the first place. Goals are great things to have, but not if they become a hindrance to your success simply because you forget to embrace the journey. First Name.
