This year, it's shining the spotlight on a more extreme side of speed, and its presence promises to be one of the big highlights of the event. It will be showing several fast, pretty cars from its present and past, including the all-new XJR Rapid Response Vehicle. The specially prepared performance sedan is built to support the Bloodhound SSC in its quest to break the land speed record.
Jaguar Land Rover will highlight its role as technical partner of the Bloodhound Project to give this year's Goodwood exhibition a bit more oomph. SVO ripped the rear seats out of the base car, added a roll cage, and installed purpose-built housings for holding the customized equipment supplied by Angloco. It also added a set of flashing safety lights behind the front grille and finished the specialty build off with the colorful Bloodhound SSC livery.
Its hp 5. The Bloodhound support car won't be the only Jaguar debut of interest. The new and improved XJ will make its world debut at the show, and the production version of the F-Type Project 7 special edition will show its face for the first time. We'll have more about Jaguar's debuts, and all the other fast, fascinating cars of Goodwood, after the show gets underway on June Source: Jaguar.
LOG IN. If there were room for incremental sales expansion in this niche over the past few years, it would appear those two benefited more than Jaguar did. The point of this test, really, is another new thing for The supercharged V-8 engine is now available in an XJR with the standard-length wheelbase; it formerly was offered only on the XJL chassis, which stretches some five inches longer.
HIGHS: Sounds as lovely as it looks, sporty driving character in a roomy four-door, very comfortable. LOWS: Infotainment system glitches, limited trim options. In that context, the updates to the rear—LED taillamps and oval exhaust outlets—could have gone further to amp up the Jaguar-ness of this model when viewed from behind.
This is not a car that sets style aside in the quest for rear-seat-headroom bragging rights, although it does have more rear legroom than an S-class. Twice, drivers noted it flashing error messages about the backup camera even while displaying video from that device, although we were moving forward at more than 30 mph. For its part, the supposedly hyper-smart navigation system correctly noted that a six-mile stretch of local freeway was shut down for construction, pointed us around the closed entrance ramp at the northern end, and then inexplicably and stubbornly demanded that we get on that same freeway three miles south, only midway through the closed section.
That sort of thing undercuts the impressive ability to swipe the map over onto the instrument panel directly in front of the driver. The car is nearly Jekyll and Hyde: a well-dressed pedestrian around town hiding an inner monster ready to rip off its clothes for a romp on the open road. Switch the chassis to dynamic mode and flick the transmission into sport to awaken the oversize sports car dwelling beneath the surface.
The sounds coming from the 5. I bought mine from Ebay in whilst living in Kansas City. It was my daily drive for three years. It has been in storage for most of the time. Came out once or twice a year when I visited the Netherlands. Had to put new tires on, a few other small things, but in all it was still fine.
Left at On a stretch of Autobahn with no speed restriction and virtually no traffic. So I put the hammer down!
